We Love All Paws, Claws and the Lives They Change
Senior Sanctuary
The primary focus of our sanctuary is to provide a home to any animal who has reached 7 years old and cannot seem to find a landing space of their own. Our story started with Katie the Beagle, and while we only got to enjoy her last 16 months battling cancer, we made it the best months of her life. We carry her spirit forward and strive to make sure no animal has to pass alone on a concrete floor of a shelter.
Safe Harbor
There are times when life just gets in the way. Usually in these instances, it is our beloved animals who suffer the most. Stray Acres does offer a Safe Harbor program where they can stay in our sanctuary and under our care for up to a year while life works itself out. Just because there may be a housing issue today, doesn’t mean you or your animal should suffer when it can be back to “normal” in a few weeks.
Medical Necessity
We have found that the biggest hearts are the ones with the most damage. Regardless of age, we will take in animals and assure they can be housed and provided whatever care they need for the remainder of their life.
